I have been enjoying a HF mobile since 1980’s. A FT100 is installed at the centre console box of Nissan SERENA.( 8 seater minibus ). You can see a mobile whip in the picture just set on the rear roof.
There are a lot of antennas designed for HF mobile stations, but I prefer top loading types to the others. The antenna which I have been using is Commet CA-HV, a top loading antenna for 40M-70CM with attachment coils. It works so good that I could make many QSOs in 6 continents.
The propagations are very poor in these days. We have to wait several years until good conditions come. Nevertheless QSOs by mobile are very thrilling and exciting.
